Drug name: Travocort (diflucortolone valerate and isoconazole nitrate)

Therapeutic effects: Travocort is a combined medication indicated for the treatment of dermatomycosis with expressed anti-inflammatory action. Travocort possesses antifungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action. Therapeutic action of Travocort is associated with its two active ingredients: isoconazole nitrate –potent broad spectrum anti-fungal agent and highly active local corticosteroid - diflucortolone valerate Action mechanism of Isoconazole is achieved due to suppression of ergosterol production.

Corticosteroid Diflucortolone exerts anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, anti-pruritic and anti-allergic action. Due to low absorption, the medication does not possess systemic side effects.

Indications: Travocort is used to treat fungal skin infections accompanied by excessive anti-inflammatory and eczematous manifestations, mixed skin infections (dermatomycosis of hands, had, smooth skin, inguinal folds, genitals:

• Trichophytosis
• Microsporia
• Candidiasis
• Epidermophytosis
• Erythrasma
• Tinea vesicolor
• Diseases caused by mold fungus

Travocort is usually well tolerate even in application on sensitive skin. In individual cases the medication may cause irritation, itching, erythema, allergic reactions.

In very rare cases Travocort may cause system side effects characterized by suppression of hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis.

Drug interactions:

Travocort may interact with the following groups of medicines:

• Local and oral corticosteroids
• Local antibiotics
• Local antimycotic remedies

Cautions and restrictions:

Travocort is contraindicated for use in the following conditions:

• Known reactions of hypersensitivity
• Pregnancy (especially during 1st trimester of pregnancy)
• Breastfeeding

Travocort is not indicated for the treatment specific skin manifestations of such diseases as syphilis, tuberculosis, chicken pox, acne rosacea, perioral dermatitis, shingles.

Additional information:

Travocort cream should be stored at temperature not exceeding 25°C out of reach of children. Shelf-life is 5 years. Do not take travocort cream after expiration date.
