Drug name: Telfast (fexofenadine)
Therapeutic effects: Fexofenadine is a potent and highly specific inhibitor of H1- histamine receptors. By blocking histamine receptor Telfast prevents the development of allergic reactions associated with histamine effects such as sneezing, itching and rhinorrhea, skin rash.
Fexofenadine also stabilizes the membranes of mast cells, decreases the release of histamine and biologically active compounds out of the them.
Indications:
Fexofenadine is used to treat:
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis
- Chronic urticaria (long-term hives and itching)
