Therapeutic effects:

Nootropil is a nootropic drug with the active substance pracetam - a cyclic derivative of GABA. Piracetam has a positive effect on metabolism and blood circulation in the brain. It stimulates the oxidation-reduction processes, stimulates glycolytic processes, enhances glucose utilization, improves regional blood flow in ischemic brain areas. Nootropil increases the body's energy potential by accelerating the turnover of ATP, increasing the activity of adenylyl cyclase and inhibition of nucleotide phosphatase. Nootropil enhances the synthesis of nuclear RNA and phospholipids in the brain. Improvment of the energy processes under the influence of piracetam leads to better resistance of the brain tissue to hypoxia and toxic effects.

Indications:

• Involutional syndrome in the elderly, impaired memory, reduced attention concentration in geriatric patients

Side-effects:

• CNS and peripheral nervous system: motor disinhibition, irritability, drowsiness, depression, asthenia.
