Drug name: Flagyl (Metronidazole)

Therapeutic effects: Metronidazole belongs to a family of 5-nitro-imidazoles and is active mainly against anaerobes. It suppresses the development of the simplest - amoebae, Trichomonas, as well as some obligate anaerobes: Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Lamblia, Peptostreptococcus, Clostridium sp., Bacteroides sp., Prevotella, Fusobacterium, Veilonella.
