Drug name: Claritin (loratadine)

Therapeutic effects: Claritin is anti-allergic anti-histamine preparation, blocker of peripheral histamine H1- receptors with prolonged action. Claritin selectively blocks peripheral histamine H1 receptors, exerts potent anti-allergic and antipruritic action.

Claritin does not affect central nervous system (it does not penetrate blood-brain barrier) and does not exert anti-cholinergic and sedative action.

Indications:

Claritin is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:

Seasonal and all-year-round round allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis including hay fever (symptomatic treatment of itching, nasal itching, rhinorrhea, itching and irritation in eyes, lacrimation
Acute and chronic idiopathic hives
Skin allergic reactions (atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, chronic eczema)
Allergic reactions to insect bites
