Celestoderm-V is an anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and antipruritic drug for use in dermatology. Celestoderm is intended to reduce and eliminate symptoms of inflammatory skin diseases treatable by glucocorticoid therapy: eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, anogenital and senile pruritus. It has a strong vasoconstrictor effect as compared to other corticosteroids.
The drug is manufactured by Schering.

Drug name: Celestoderm-V (Betamethasone)
Therapeutic effects:
Betamethasone, the active ingredient of Celestoderm-V, has anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects due to inhibition of release of cytokines and inflammatory mediators, decreased metabolism of arachidonic acid, induced formation of lipocortins having antiedematous activity, reduced vascular permeability.
Microdispersion of this glucocorticoid provides effective penetration into the skin and rapid onset of its effect.
Indications:
Inflammatory skin diseases treatable with corticosteroids in adults and children from 6 months of age:
- eczema (atopic, infantile, discoid)
- dermatitis
- neurodermatitis
- psoriasis
- anogenital and senile pruritus
